The adventure sounds a little like The Fantastic Four and The Rise of the Silver Surfer. In fact the Fantastic Four and the X-Men are also Marvel Universe heroes, however they and Spiderman were not invited to this party.
In fact Marvel Pictures and Sony planned their own separate party for Spiderman this summer, only weeks apart from the release of the Avengers. The fans really have a few selections to chose from this year since Warner Brothers unleashed the closing segment of the Chris Nolan Batman saga, The Dark Knight Rises.
With The Avengers, the roll call included The Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America. The lineup, the storyline and the special effects must have been stellar since audiences made the debut the third all-time box office champ, behind titans such as Avatar and Titanic.
With three major studios handling the Marvel Universe heroes, the moviegoer may be getting more for its buck than with Warner Brothers managing the entire heft of the DC heroes.
If you missed this flick at the theater grab it when released on DVD or with your local cable channel.
