Many of us remember The Cranberries who are due this year with their new album release titled Roses. The Cranberries used to be a little known band from Ireland that created a unique sound and became one of the most sought-after in the late 1990s and 00’s. Their debut album sold over five million copies in the USA alone. Unlike U-2, their streak was mired with on again and off again bursts of creativity.

Nowadays we have new acts waiting on the couch, behind the curtain of the stage. New talents such as Inna and Alexandra Stan, both artists are from Romania and have already climbed Billboard’s magazine and Europe’s top charts on several occasions and yet for many reasons unknown they are not household names in North America.

While Inna is a recent stalwart, her debut album, Hot, managed to make an impression outside of Romania, in countries such as

Russia, Spain and France.

Inna’s second album, I Am The Club Rocker, only managed to score a top charts position in Russia, France, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, Switzerland, Hungary and Poland. Inna had also made waves in Mexico and toured in the UK. She also won an MTV award and the NRJ Music Awards.
