turned the corner on the road as they say.
I trudged inside the elevator, the lights dimmed as the cabin raced downward, my heart was racing as I scrambled into the main conference hall. Rows after rows of seated personnel and managers, lights were shining on the stage and our editor was there with several senior executives, and his voice boomed with the microphone in hand. I handed the folders to a staffer waiting behind the entrance curtain and motioned at the stage "they asked for these" and then scrambled to find the closest possible empty seat inside the auditorium.
