Roadster just made its debut at the Pebbles Beach Concours D’Élegance in August of 2012 and was the result of a collaboration between the Bavarian motorworks group and the famed Italian coach builder.

This luxury sports roadster is a one-off created from the BMW Z4 stock with an inline six, 3.0 liter powerplant, with twin turbochargers that can output 335 bhp at 5900 rpm.

The engine redlines at 7,00 rpm.

An earlier introduction in May of this year of the BMW Zagato Coupe was unveiled in Italy at the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como.

The lead designer at Zagato, Norihiko Harada, revealed that the roadster was created in less than six weeks for the annual Pebbles Beach event based on the BMW Zagato Coupe.

Whether BMW plans on continuing its relationship with Zagato is unclear. However, both

the Roadster and Coupe boast a longer wheelbase, a distinctive front and rear treatment from Zagato, the hood is sloped down and has an aggressive stance, while two intake sills flare out and permit ample ventilation for the engine and turbochargers.

The entire skin of this concept car has a multi-layer paint treatment that creates an iridescent effect and returns different shades of color, depending on the angle of light.
